Kazakhstan re-launches copper smelting plant

Kazakhstan relaunched copper smelting plant of Kazakhmys Smelting company in Karaganga region, the official web site of the regional authorities said, Trend reports.

 

The plant's work was halted on September 1, 2013 for reconstruction.

 

The plant targets to produce 3,000 metric tons of copper in November and about 9,000 metric tons of copper in December.

 

The project on construction of experimental-industrial site to transfer to hydrometallurgical processing technology of the concentrate is implementing at the plant.

 

“This will give a powerful impetus to the development of the plant and all the district,” head of Karaganga region Nurmukhambet Abdibekov said.
